Terms of Service
Plain terms for a small app. Tilekit is free for personal use, with a reminder screen at startup. Using it for work, or on your company's equipment, requires a one-time licence. This page says what that covers and what it costs.

Who you're buying from
Tilekit is made and sold by DEV360 LLC, a Georgia limited liability company. These terms apply to the tilekit.dev website, the Tilekit Mac app, and any licence you buy from us. Downloading or using the app, or buying a licence, means you accept them.
We sell directly. There is no reseller or marketplace involved in your purchase besides our payment processor, Stripe.
Personal use is free
If you are an individual using Tilekit on your own Mac for yourself, it is free, with every feature enabled. There is no trial, no time limit and no account.
Personal use includes your own projects, study, hobbies and anything else that is not work for a business or organisation.
Without a licence, Tilekit shows a short reminder screen each time it starts, including when it starts automatically at login.
The reminder can simply be closed, and Tilekit then works normally with nothing locked. The only way to stop the reminder from appearing is to buy a licence.
Work use requires a licence
Using Tilekit on your company's equipment, or for your work, requires a licence.
That applies whether or not your employer paid for the Mac, and whether or not anyone asks you to use Tilekit.
Commercial use means using Tilekit on a computer owned, leased or provided by a business, government or other organisation, or as part of work done for or on behalf of one. That includes paid freelance and contract work. Each person who uses Tilekit for commercial use needs one licence seat.
Anyone else can buy a licence too, for example to stop the reminder screen or to support the work. The app works the same either way; the licence only removes the reminder.
What a licence covers
- One seat is one person. A seat covers that person's use of Tilekit on every Mac they use. Buy one seat per person; you can choose the quantity at checkout.
- It doesn't expire. A licence is a one-time purchase, not a subscription. It covers every update we release for the current major version. If a future major version is ever a paid upgrade, we will say so on the pricing page before charging, and your licence keeps working with the version you already have.
- Seats can be reassigned. An organisation can move a seat to another person, for example when someone leaves. A seat can't be used by two people at once.
- Delivery is immediate and digital. After payment you get a licence key on screen and by email. Enter it in Tilekit to remove the reminder. Stripe also emails a receipt and an invoice, which are your record of the seats you hold. Keep your key private; it's for the people your seats cover.
Price and payment
A commercial licence costs $19 USD per seat, one time. The current price is on the pricing page.
The price excludes any tax that may apply where you are. There is no subscription and nothing renews.
Payment is handled by Stripe. You see the total before you reach the card form. We never receive or store your card details; see the privacy policy. If we change the price, the change applies only to purchases made afterwards.
Refunds
Email us within 30 days of a purchase and we refund it in full, without asking why. The details are in the refund policy.
Your Mac and your data
Tilekit needs macOS Accessibility access to move and resize windows. It uses that access only for that. The app makes no network requests of its own and sends nothing about you, your windows or your apps to us. See the privacy policy.
Acceptable use
Do not:
- Resell, sublicense or redistribute Tilekit or a licence, including modified copies of the app.
- Use Tilekit commercially without a licence for each person who uses it.
- Present Tilekit, or a copy of it, as your own product.
- Publish or share a licence key beyond the people your seats cover, or forge, tamper with or bypass the licence check.
- Use the website or its forms in a way that degrades them for other people, including spam.
If a purchase is refunded or reversed, or a key is shared publicly, the licence it covered is no longer valid and we may revoke the key.
Warranty and liability
Tilekit is provided as is. It is a small utility built by one person, and it makes no guarantee of being error-free, compatible with every app or future macOS release, or fit for any particular purpose.
To the extent the law allows, our total liability for any claim relating to Tilekit or a licence is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim. We are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, including lost data, revenue or time.
Nothing here limits a right you have that cannot be limited under the consumer law that applies to you.
Governing law and venue
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Georgia, USA, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Any dispute arising from these terms or from Tilekit must be brought in a court of competent jurisdiction in Georgia, and each party consents to venue and personal jurisdiction there.
Nothing in this section takes away a protection that the consumer law of your own country or state gives you and does not let you waive.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms as the product changes. The date at the top of this page is when they last changed. Changes never take away rights from a licence you have already bought.
